Who the fuck are… Floral Image?

Have you ever seen a musical act top the charts, or break some ultra-specific record, and think: “who the fuck is that?”. We all have. Well, here’s the answer to your problems. Well, maybe not all of your problems.

Our brand new section, the name for which we have shamelessly pilfered from Sheffield’s perennial favourite primates, is focussed on giving a spotlight to the up-and-coming acts we think are cool, interesting, and worthy of a mention. The same questions (basically) every time, the aim is to give you a chance to get-to-know these artists a little better than you did before.

Who better to kick-off this inaugural section than the headliners of the Jingle Jangle Jungle stage at the Jarred Up Festival ‘25? They’re a five-piece, they’re from the South, they play psychedelic music, but who the fuck are Floral Image?

What are your names?

Jack, Fergus, Mitch, Tex & Phil

Where are you from?

We're from Norwich and it's a very very nice place to live

What have you been up to recently?

In Spring we released our first ever album, Gone Down Meadowland, on Fuzz Club records and toured it over the UK and Europe! Did a few very fun festival shows over the Summer too.

Are you excited to be playing Jarred Up Festival?

Yes! It's our first time playing it. We love Jarred Up; we love Jangly James; and we love Sheffield, so it's a match made in heaven.

If you had to add another instrument to the band, what would it be?

Percussion is the elixir of life and the final boss of all good rock bands

What have you been listening to at the moment?

It's Jack here (keys and vocals) and all I've had on whilst working at home is Dire Dire Docks from Super Mario 64 on repeat. Does that reveal my age??

Who would you love to support?

Minami Deutsch, and we are doing just that next month across the UK! Come see us maybe?

Who would you hate to support?

Easy. Ed Sheeran.

What is your dream rider?

3 course meal from the Merchants of Spice restaurant in Norwich. But at least 3 hours before the show to avoid bowel issues.

Would you rather your music be used as hold music for a dodgy telemarketing firm, or as a bad Ibiza club remix?

I love and welcome all remixes, so I'd love to hear that.

Of the seven deadly sins, which would you most want your music to be synonymous with?

Wrath. Tear down those walls and borders.

What is the most pretentious way you have described your own music?

Chris Martin's nightmare

Have you got anything coming out soon?

Yes! We have some b-sides and live versions from our debut album coming out in the form of a new EP, called Deeper Down Meadowland. Out November 21st.

You have 10 words left, what do you wanna say?

Free Palestine

You can catch Floral Image headlining the Jingle Jangle Jungle stage at 8:45pm at the Jarred Up Festival ‘25. A limited amount of tickets are still available, and you can purchase them here.
