REVIEW: Plastic Heart and their second single, ‘Hear My Call’

After making waves with their debut single, ‘Tension’, Manchester alt-rock band Plastic Heart return louder, sharper, and more fearless with ‘Hear My Call’, a track that feels both like a battle cry and a breakthrough moment.

Naomi Schofield's powerful and charismatic vocals are at the centre of ‘Hear My Call’, a song that mixes honest emotion with determination. The guitars move between musical introspection and explosions of power, with delicate, personable riffs over a pounding drumbeat. Behind the scenes, Andy Gannon contributes to the musical atmosphere that lives up to every nuance of the piece, producing an echo that reverberates far beyond the studio.

The lyrics and music build to a strong climax that makes you want to blast it out loud with others.

The song was released on the 2nd May this year, and was also featured on BBC Radio 1's "Introducing Rock" with Alyx Holcombe, which boosted its popularity. Since the band released their first single, ‘Tension’, they have gained more than 30,000 streams, evidence of their growing popularity.

A musical rebranding that reflects their growth and ambition, demanding space, identity, and acknowledgment. In contemporary alternative rock music, Plastic Heart now seem to have finally discovered their place: emotionally healthy and ready to tackle bigger stages. A rare musical maturity in an emerging band that balances energy and reflection equally, in search of greater ideas.

‘Hear My Call’ is more than a song: it proves that Plastic Heart have gone beyond being an “up-and-coming” band, and are now ready for the spotlight.
