Jarred Up alumni feature on this year’s Green Man line-up, alongside other exciting names to appear in Sheffield later this year
A few weeks ago, my favourite festival in the world (aside from Jarred Up Fest, obviously) released their 2026 line-up and goodness gracious, it’s a good ‘un!
Green Man Festival never disappoints – having attended three time since 2021, and having seen the likes of Fontaines DC, Amyl and the Sniffers, Mogwai, DEVO, Confidence Man, Kneecap, Wet Leg, MJ Lenderman, and CMAT, just to name a few – this festival’s booking team should be patting themselves on the back yet again after announcing another stellar line-up for the beautiful Welsh mountains of the Brecon Beacons.
Mogwai will return this year, set to headline the Thursday this time around, alongside other huge names in Wolf Alice, Wilco, Aldous Harding, Baxter Dury, and the legendary sibling partnership of Sparks.
What we want to do here, however, is highlight some of the smaller names on that line-up poster, as it’s absolutely jam-packed with the most exciting up-and-coming bands who deserve a solid crowd for their sets this August! We especially want to talk about the bands who’ve appeared on our very own Jarred Up line-ups in Sheffield before, and those who are set to appear in our city this year too.
The Friday of Green Man2026 sees Brighton’s finest folk group The New Eves take to the Brecon stage, with their pounding drums and whimsical harmonies sure to suit this festival perfectly. As the headliners of Jarred Up all-dayer Salutations last year, we’re super excited to catch them again at this year’s big Welsh party, as they’re really going from strength to strength at the moment.

A more recent Jarred Up show featured Another Country $$$$, who played the April edition of our Jarred Up Monthly shows at The Washington; other recent shows of the Monthly programme have featured the likes of Brian Lightning, Georgian, and Cruush.

Another Country $$$$ are a mind-blowing electronic outfit from Manchester, with a drummer who possesses Octopus-like talents that left us questioning just how the hell he was playing at that speed and with such precision. These guys are really a sight to behold and a must-see at Green Man on the Saturday.
Speaking of hard-hitting electronic groups, Leeds band Bathing Suits are rapidly gaining traction right now, and deservedly so. They’ve played a handful of times in Sheffield over the past few months, including two shows at Gut Level this year, both of which were staggeringly energetic performances, so be sure to catch them on the Saturday at GM26. Strobe lights, intense & pounding noise, and frantic dance moves by frontwoman/drum machine-operator Frejya Blevins are just a few elements that make an unforgettable Bathing Suits performance.

A band we’re yet to see live but have long been fans of, A Place To Bury Strangers will be making noise in the Sidney & Matilda Gallery Room just a few days after their Green Man appearance, so we’re fascinated to see them in both settings this summer! Dubbed as the ‘loudest band from New York’, we have no doubt that they’ll deliver a jaw-dropping set of heavy psychedelia to audiences of thousands of festival-goers and the 300 lucky attendees of the subsequent Sheffield show alike.
Also appearing in Sheffield later this year, courtesy of the Sidney & Matilda team taking over September’s Float Along Festival, are Irish punk giants Sprints and Windmill favourites Little Grandad, who both appear on the Friday at the Crickhowell gathering this August. Sprints are lined up to rip the Corporation stage a new one 4 weeks later at the aforementioned inner-city festival, with Little Grandad also appearing the same day, bringing their unique blend of slacker-rock, Americana, and indie-pop to the city.
Of course, we’re biased, but we strongly recommend any Green Man ticket-holders reading this to go and catch these bands at this year’s festival, you won’t regret it!
You can check out our upcoming Jarred Up shows, and grab tickets to our festival, here, including for A Place To Bury Strangers. You can also buy tickets to Sheffield’s Float Along festival here.
